A male Orange Tip butterfly is resting on the flower with its wings closed; Lady's Smock is one of the butterfly larva's foodplants.

Tubifex Worms

These small worms anchor themselves and eat the organic material on the bottom of the pond and wave their tails about to collect oxygen from the brackish water.

Peacock butterfly

It looks as if it was attacked by a few birds last year before it went into hibernation - the beak-shaped chunks have been taken out near the eye-spots on the forewing.
